This years race starts in Los Angeles with checkpoints in Las Vegas, the Hoover Dam, Sedona, the Grand Canyon, Santa Fe, Dallas, New Orleans and Orlando with the finish line in Miami.

Depeche Mode literally shut down blocks of Hollywood Boulevard and Vine Street to give a free concert to tens of thousands of devoted fans. All was calm in a sea of black as the crowd danced and sang along to their favorite hits and were treated to brand spanking new tunes. The celebration was brought on to launch their twelve album release since 1981, "Sounds of the Universe."

Huge stars came out in support of the opening such as Matthew McConaughey and his baby's Momma Camila Alves, Mena Suvari, Jewel, Anthony Kiedis and his ultra clingy girlfriend, Vanessa Mannillo, Brooke Burns, Suzanne Somers, Angie Harmon, Jeremy Piven and tons more stars shined bright in the 'Bu...just another day in paradise.

What better way to spend Earth Day then with a bunch of hippies in Topanga Canyon. Dancing, loving, sunning and praising the moon, the stars, the sun and oh yeah...the earth! Set in the picture-esqe canyon full of oak trees and wafts of ocean breezes, it was the perfect place to gather in celebration to incite awareness of our beautiful earth.

April 15, 2009 -- Organized to coincide with U.S. Tax Day, conservative protesters staged "taxpayer tea parties" yesterday in over 700 American cities -- their own version of the 1773 Boston Tea Party which helped lead to the American Revolution.

At the top of the Santa Monica Pier, on the corner of Colorado Ave and Ocean Ave, a group of at least 100 hundred demonstrators spent hours waving American flags and signs with statements like "An Obama Nation is An Abomination," "Obama Spoke, Now You're Broke," and "No! To Higher Taxes," while others drove by and blew their horns in support.

On Saturday, April 11, KCRW hosted RadioActive, a Spring dance party featuring the station�s own skilled selectors at The Legendary Park Plaza in downtown Los Angeles, a beautiful space that is not normally open to the public. This was the first time KCRW put on a dance event featuring station DJ�s even though many of them have headlined some of the biggest venues in the world independently -- from the dance mecca of Ibiza and Central Park�s Summer Stage in NYC to Coachella and the Winter Music Conference.
