CARSON, CA -- The Los Angeles Galaxy faced off in a friendly against Italian powerhouse AC Milan Saturday night. While the match resulted in a 2-2 draw, it was an exciting match throughout, both on and off the field.
The match also marked the return of embattled Galaxy superstar David Beckham, who left the Galaxy to play on loan for AC Milan. From the moment he was introduced and each time he touched the ball, Beckham was booed relentlessly by the home crowd. At the end of the first half Beckham had enough and walked to the Galaxy die-hard support club, the LA Riot Squad, and engaged the fans. One supporter jumped onto the field and was promptly apprehended. Beckham later stated "he just wanted to make amends and shake his hand."
Off the field antics aside, Beckham was essential to the draw feeding a long pass down field to set up the first goal and taking the corner that drew the game even.
