Spanish and European Champion, FC Barcelona, traveled to the Rose Bowl Saturday night to face the Los Angeles Galaxy in an international friendly. The match, which drew over 93,000 fans, was the largest attended soccer match in the United States since the 1994 World Cup. The Catalonian side, featuring world class players such as Lionel Messi and Thierry Henry, proved too much for the Galaxy to handle. Winning 2-1 on goals from Pedro Rodriguez and Jeffren Suarez. Embattled Galaxy Midfielder, David Beckham, played in his first match since the incident with a supporter from a few weeks prior at the Home Depot Center. With each touch of the ball, Beckham was showered with loud boos from the largely Barca supporting crowd and with a trademark free kick goal at the close of the first half, silenced many of the boos. The match was the third world class caliber match in Los Angeles within the last two weeks and in all the matches drew almost 200,000 fans to watch the beautiful game.
