LOS ANGELES (Nov 17, 2009) -- Newly minted rock supergroup, Them Crooked Vultures, completely annihilated the Wiltern Theatre Tuesday night. The Vultures are Dave Grohl from Nirvana/Foo Fighters fame, Frontman Josh Homme from Queens of the Stone Age and one of the greatest bass guitarists ever from one of the greatest bands ever, John Paul Jones from Led Zeppelin.
The music, a blend of dirty bluesy rock, never let up during the course of the 14 song set. The ghosts of Zeppelin past are apparent within the frame work of the Vultures. Both Grohl and Homme have never tried to hide their admiration and respect for Zeppelin in their respective "day jobs" but the addition of Jones takes admiration to a different level. Reinterpretation and continuance, if you will, of the spirit of Led Zeppelin. Basically, this shit rocks...hard...and loud!
